Color Love: Teal

I've been working on my final project for my certificate program at the Boston Architectural College, which will feature lots and lots of jewel tones.  So I've been staring at some really gorgeous fabrics over the last week and am using that as my inspiration for this month's color post.  Teal is a color that I don't use a lot but that I'm warming up to more (and using as the major color in my living room scheme for the project).  For some reason it reminds me of the 90's which is not a decade I want to remember for clothing or decor, so I'm pushing myself to bring together a plan that really elevates this color (for me!)  Lately I've been seeing it used in lots of beautiful ways in the design world.  Here are some rooms that I think bring teal to a new level. Enjoy!

The teal on the celling balances the teal on the two chairs - very eye catching!

This homeowner used it to update a brick fireplace - an unexpected but happy color for a fireplace.

Here it's used on an accent wall in a bedroom. Without it, the room would feel much more muted (minus that bench at the end of the bed).  Not to mention I love this bed.

I adore this cute little teal bed in a girl's bedroom.

Finally here it is paired with a mint green and chartreuse.  This color combo is super cool!
