My Brimfield Finds

Hi everyone!  Last week was the first Brimfield flea market of the year out in central MA, and while the weather was iffy at the start with a cold, light drizzle, we ended up having a great day to search the market for unique finds.  I went with two mama friends who were looking for specific pieces (myself included) and we ended up filling our Zipcar minivan with a lot of things on our list (check!)

I scored two wire planters for my back deck, a Fathers Day gift for my husband (shhh), a vintage Maryland glass that I hope to add other states to in the future, and a colorful abstract painting for our bedroom. The frame is ugly, but I plan on removing it and spray painting it glossy black.

Here are some other things I found which I loved, but had (sadly) no reason to buy.

A mid-century roll desk. I've never seen one and I really, REALLY want to figure out a way to get one of these into my house.  But right now, there's just no room.

If I was decorating a little girls room right now, I would have snagged this white bed with caning.  It was in great shape!

This metal seat and table was super cool - I could see using this on a three season porch or in a garden with a funky patterned cushion.

This old bus poster would be so fun in a little boys room.

A stack of stools!

I was eyeing this old china cabinet for a client of mine, but the paint was really chipping and funky and I was worried about lead (she has two little kids)...so sadly this stayed behind.

I loved these bamboo rocks glasses. Very Mad Men!

This pair of rustic carule inspired chairs were cute. Love the color.

Take the frame away and this little painting would be fun in a girls room or bathroom.  But the frame has to go.

These vintage bird nest prints were adorable. I wish I had some place to use them but they were too pricey to buy on a whim for a future client.

Mannequins galore!

And finally, I came upon the same set of china that my mom has in storage for me in her basement.  My dad bought it for her when he was in Vietnam.  Classic and beautiful.

Can't wait to go back later in the year!
