Color Love: Mustard Yellow

For the month of November, I wanted to focus on the color Mustard Yellow.  I've been getting more inspired by the use of this color in interiors lately and am hoping to incorporate it into an upcoming project. I like how warm and complex it can be, especially during the chilly fall months.  And I love how you can dial up the boldness with it - a pop of mustard yellow goes a long way, but a room devoted to mustard yellow gives a major wow factor. Here are some images of great uses of the color in a variety of rooms.

This bed is stunning and gives a major pop of color.  And I love the pairing with the mint and emerald green. Very unexpected!

Used as an accent wall here, it packs a punch of color as it's paired with more neutral colors.  Such an eclectic room.

Here's another dining room that has a completely different feel than the one prior. This time with a pop of color on the chairs. I love the cool factor of this room - sophisticated without trying too hard.

I would love to curl up with a good book on a snowy day in this room.  It's so warm and cozy and shows how this color can be used in a more traditional way.

I love the risk taking with this kitchen. Most people these days choose white or gray or maybe even blue when painting cabinets, but yellow feels fresh, happy and unexpected.

And finally a mustard yellow wallpaper.  So adorable for a kids room or bathroom.  And there's that mint accent color again.

I hope you enjoyed seeing some beautiful mustard yellow rooms and are inspired to use the color more!
