One Room Challenge: Week 6 - The Big Reveal

Hello everyone!  Well Week 6 is finally here and my One Room Challenge is complete!  I had some doubts I was going to pull this off about a week and a half ago, but I did it.  I really love how it turned out overall.  I probably will add some more art at some point, maybe change out the faucet and the tile eventually.  But in terms of a facelift, this did the trick and my sad powder room feels much more happier than it used to.

As a reminder here is the before:

And here is the after:

A few details:

The colors I ended up using with were Simply White for the walls and Martha's Vineyard for the wainscoting and vanity (both by Benjamin Moore).  The green is perfect - a nice pop but not too bright.

I swapped out the bronze hardware with modern brushed brass ones from Forge Hardware Studio on Etsy and Rejuvenation.  I moved the towel hook from over the toilet (yuck) to the wall next to the vanity.  I used this old whale hook that my parents had in our kitchen growing up. I love that I finally found a place to use this in my own home as it's been sitting in a drawer for a few years.

The window treatments were made with fabric from  They have some great, affordable prints and purchasing on supports independent artists.

The small canvas paintings were found at Ramble Market in Waltham.  I wrote a blog post on them earlier in the year - it's a great spot for curated antiques and vintage finds.

I was on a tight budget for this makeover and all in all I spent around $325 - not bad!  That includes the paint, hardware, fabric and artwork.

I'm glad I finally finished my first ORC and hope to do it again in the Spring.  Remember to check out all the other Afters over at Calling it Home.
