It's week two of the One Room Challenge and I've narrowed down the schemes for my powder room to two options below. My inspiration for the room comes from the colors are these two tiny paintings I purchased from Ramble Market a few months ago. I just couldn't resist them and knew I'd find a place to use them in my home. They have a lot of blues, greens, grays and even a tiny bit of red and yellow. I want the room to be colorful and bright, but not too bright. And I nixed the idea of wallpaper given the time restraints. I just don't think I can make that happen within the next 4 weeks. Here are the two options I'm debating between.
Option 1: I would paint the walls a basic white while the wainscoting and vanity would be transformed to a more muted turquoise blue (Polished Slate by Ben Moore). For the windows, I want to go with a small graphic print. I love this leafy green pattern. The hardware would be brass to match the existing light fixture from CB2.
Option 2: It's similar to Option 1, but with a leafy green paint color on the wainscoting and vanity (Marthas Vineyard Green by Ben Moore) and a mustardy-yellow window treatment with a tiny fan pattern.
So what do you all think? I need to make a decision SOON. Let me know in the comments below!
And don't forget to visit the One Room Challenge page that features hundreds of other guest participants (like me!) It's fun to see the transformations in progress!
